"A wide variety of fish cuisines prepared from fishes available in our own waterbodies has always been our unique selling point (USP). But the people in the city love to relish mutton or chicken items in addition to fish during Bhai Phota. So, we have arranged for five special thalis that will be available in the price range of Rs 480 to Rs 580, where people will get a combination of fish and meat cuisines, along with sweets," said Subrata Mukherjee, managing director of SFDC.

The thalis will have starter items like fish finger, golden fried prawn, Lotiya fish fry, items of Bhetki, Hilsa, Chingri and meat items in the form of chicken and mutton delicacies.

The Bhuri Bhoj restaurant has recently seen an extension and the dining capacity has now been raised to 180.

During the Puja days, the restaurant that had served special thalis with an emphasis on fish items, witnessed business of Rs 10 lakh. It started its journey on September 18 and till September 30, it had seen a business of Rs 6 lakh.

SFDC will temporarily close its All Fish Restaurant in the month of November, for renovation. It will be unveiled after a facelift before Christmas.

"The fish app that we had launched last year is being made more user-friendly. A person will be able to order live fishes, ready-to-fry fish items and cooked fish items through the app. Our resorts at Digha, Sankarpur, Henry's Island and other places spread across Bengal can also be booked through the app," Mukherjee said.
