Seven people injured in auto accidents in Bengal

Baharampur/Kolkata: Irate mob damaged a government owned passenger bus after the vehicle hit a diesel-run tri-cycle critically injuring its all seven occupants on NH 34 at Baharampur inMurshidabad district today, police said.
All the injured have been taken to Murshidabad medical college in critical state.
The accident happened when the government bus packed with passengers was trying to overtake a stationary sand laden truck. The bus hit the motor powered tri-cycle throwing all the occupants on the metal road.
Reacting to the mishap, the local people attacked the bus and the police van with stones, accusing the policemen of taking bribe from the driver of the sand laden truck.
However, the police took control of the situation and denied any wrong doing. Police said it was a routine frisking of the vehicle.
In another accident two motor cyclists were critically wounded when their two-wheeler was hit by a truck at New Town in the city this morning.
