Schoolteacher missing from Monday found dead in ground

Mystery shrouds the death of a schoolteacher whose body was found on a playground near her house.

The incident occurred at Farakka in Murshidabad on Wednesday morning. The incident triggered tension among the local residents. The family members of the woman registered a murder case in this connection so far.

The victim had been missing from Monday evening. Police said that the victim, a teacher of a private school in Farakka had gone missing while returning home from school. The other teachers of the school told the police that she left for her house after school got over. But she did not return home. The family members of the victim also lodged a missing diary in the local police station as they did not find any trace of the victim. The victim's family members searched for the woman in the locality and also called up some of the relatives but failed to get any trace of the victim.

Some of the local residents on Wednesday morning found the body lying on a ground. After being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the body of the victim and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

According to the police the lady's dupatta was wrapped around her neck which suggests that the she might have been strangulated to death. Police are also investigating if the woman was tortured before being murdered. As per the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the teacher was murdered. The crime had taken place somewhere else and miscreants dumped her body on the playground after murdering her.
