School girl's body found from room in Baguiati

Kolkata: Mystery shrouds the death of a girl whose body was found hanging inside her flat on Wednesday morning at Baguiati.

Police said that the girl was all alone in the house when the incident took place as her parents went out for some work.

Police are yet to ascertain whether the death is suicidal or homicidal in nature. A police officer said that they initiated a probe and sent the body for an autopsy.

On Wednesday morning, the victim's parents found the girl's body hanging from the ceiling of her room. Local people went to their flat hearing the cries for help of the victim's parents.

They informed the police who brought down the girl and sent the body for an autopsy.

Though the police are yet to ascertain the exact reason behind the death of the girl, they are suspecting that she might have committed suicide following a dispute with some of her close friends.

The police have gone through her exercise books to find if she had left anything in writing. The police also spoke to some of her friends to know whether she was passing through any problem in the recent time.

The police are also trying to find whether the victim was being disturbed by anyone in the past few days.

The police will also go through the cell phones which were in her home to find whether she had any conversation with anyone and subsequently took the decision to commit suicide.

It is learnt that her friends told to the police that she had been speaking a bit less for the past couple of days. But apart from that there was nothing suspicious in her behaviour.

The police are waiting for the post-mortem report which is quite crucial in this connection.
