After a stopover in Siliguri, Jordan departed for Darjeeling on Tuesday.
This is her first visit to North Bengal.
"As a part of her outreach, Jordan plans to meet with leaders of the travel and tourism industry to assess the current situation and explore the tourism potential of Darjeeling" stated an official release.
Talking to media persons in Siliguri, Jordan stated that Darjeeling is a major tourist attraction for the Americans. Last year alone 1.3 million tourists travelled to India from the USA.
