Sabyasachi moves HC against no-confidence motion

Kolkata: Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sabyasachi Dutta has filed a case in the High Court, challenging the no-confidence motion brought against him. The matter will come up for hearing on Monday.

35 councillors of BMC have brought a no-confidence motion against Dutta for his anti-party activities. The councillors have written a letter in this regard to Krishna Chakraborty, chairman of the civic body, who sent the letter to the joint municipal commissioner. State Urban Development minister Firhad Hakim said: "Anyone can go to the court. But had I been in Sabyasachi Dutta's position, I would have resigned as 35 councillors have signed the no-confidence motion against him."
