S-E Rly GM launches Modular Operation Theatre

Kolkata: S N Agrawal, General Manager, South Eastern Railway inaugurated a Modular Operation Theatre at S-E Railway Central Hospital, Garden Reach on Monday.

Dr Puran Mal, Chief Medical Director, S-E Railway, Dr Rupa Mitra, Medical Director, S-E Railway along with a host of doctors were present at the inaugural ceremony.

It was necessary to set up the Operation Theatre in order to provide better healthcare and treatment to the Railway staff and their family members.

The first phase of the Modular OT Complex made up of Stainless Steel 304 quality and Hepafilters with laminar air flow, world class pendants and conductive and antistatic flooring will go a long way in providing the right ambiance for performing complex surgical procedures. Three Operation Theatres have been constructed in the first phase.

The second phase of the modernisation of the OT Complex which will be completed soon will upgrade the hospital into a state-of-the-art one. This would consist 6 Operation Theatres allowing the doctors to perform multiple procedures of various specialties simultaneously.

A number of changes have happened in the recent past at Central Hospital, S-E Railway, Garden Reach like Surgical ICU, Burns & Trauma ICU and the Modular OT Complex.
