S Bengal districts may witness rain in next 24 hrs

Kolkata: The regional meteorological center at Alipore has predicted that it may continue to rain in several parts of South Bengal districts in next 24 hours.
According to a weather expert, the city dwellers and the adjoining districts are also expected to witness some rain on Friday due to the well marked low pressure area which was still persisting in the Bay of Bengal.
The depression over the West-Central Bay of Bengal has kept moving almost parallel to North Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts, posing heavy rainfall alert at isolated places in these states. A senior official of the weather office in Alipore said that low pressure trough formed over Bay of Bengal may get weakened after Friday. He also said that winter may set in after the sky becomes clear and the air is free from moisture. The sky will remain cloudy in most parts of the South Bengal districts.
According to the weather alert, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall in some costal area of the state. MeT office forecast said it will bring heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places over coastal Odisha and coastal Bengal till Friday. Squally winds are likely and the weather warning for fishermen is still in position.
