RPF rescues 2 'lost' boys from Dum Dum Metro station

Kolkata: Two children were recovered by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at Dum Dum Metro station on Wednesday afternoon. They were later handed over to their parents after necessary paperwork.

According to Metro Railway, on Wednesday at around 12:20 pm, RPF personnel at Dum Dum Metro station noticed two boys aged around 12 years in school uniform, loitering aimlessly on the platform. RPF personnel initially did not go to the duo but kept a strong vigil on them. After a few minutes, Metro RPF personnel went to them and asked why they were loitering inside the station. They were then taken to the station master's office for questioning. After a few minutes, the boys told the Metro officials that they had left their homes to go to school. But they changed their mind midway and were roaming aimlessly. While doing so, the duo lost their way and ended up in the Metro station. They subsequently disclosed their identities and addresses, after which authorities got in touch with their parents and asked them to come to the station. After almost an hour, the parents came and identified their wards.
