Retired cop dies after falling from roof

Kolkata: A retired police officer died after falling from the roof of an apartment at Gobindapur Road in Jodhpur Park on Saturday afternoon. The deceased, identified as Asim Mukhopadhyay (75) who used to live alone in an apartment in the five-storey building, had been suffering from mental depression.

"Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide. But we are probing all angles. The body has been sent for post mortem," an officer of Lake police station said. The deceased's daughter has informed police that he had been suffering from mental depression for the last six months.
