Reshuffle spree: Postings of 8 IPS, 5 IAS officers changed

Kolkata: Following the reshuffling of 43 IPS officers a day ago, postings of eight more IPS officers including Commissioner of Police (CP) Bidhannagar have been changed again on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Bharat Lal Meena, who was the CP of Siliguri Police Commissionerate, was made the CP Bidhannagar. But on Wednesday, the earlier order was cancelled and he has been instructed to continue in his last posting. Laxmi Narayan Meena, who was the CP of Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate, has been made the CP Bidhannagar. Devendra Prakash Singh, who was the CP of Barrackpore Police Commissionerate, will replace him.

Tanmay Ray Chaudhuri, who was posted as the CP of Howrah Police Commissionerate on Tuesday, has now been posted as the CP of Barrackpore Police Commissionerate. Gaurav Sharma, who was earlier transferred to Siliguri Police Commissionerate as CP, has now been made the CP of Howrah Police Commissionerate, while Saumya Roy has been made the Superintendent of Police (SP), Howrah (Rural).

Tathagata basu and Amitabha Maity have been instructed to continue in their last posting, which are SP Sunderban Police District and SP Jalpaiguri respectively.

Apart from the IPS reshuffle, postings of five IAS officers have also been made on Wednesday. Sanjay Bansal, who was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) with additional charge of CEO, Sector VI, ITA and PD of WBSPMG, has been made the District Magistrate (DM) of Darjeeling.

Antara Acharya, who was the DM of North 24-Parganas, will replace him. Joyoshi Dasgupta, who was the DM of Darjeeling has been made the Joint Secretary of Food and Supplies department. Shilpa Gourisaria, who was the DM of Jalpaiguri, has been made the Joint Secretary of the Finance department. Surendra Kumar Meena, Special Commissioner, GST, who was posted in Durgapur, has been made the DM of Alipurduar.
