Replicas of 7 Wonders at Eco Park to be lit up before Durga Puja

Kolkata: Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) will illuminate the replica of Seven Wonders at Eco Park before the Durga Puja.
A meeting to discuss the matter was held between Debashis Sen, chairman of HIDCO and its senior engineers and officials on Tuesday to discuss about the positioning of the lights.
Eco Park is the only urban park in the country that has a replica of Seven Wonders of the world. It may be recalled that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had urged HIDCO officials to set up replica of the Seven Wonders to give an idea of the structures set up in different countries particularly to those who love to travel but cannot afford to visit those countries where the wonders are situated.
Hectic work is on to give final touches to the replica and the arena covering an area of 5 acres will be opened to public shortly. The replica of Taj Mahal has a height of 4.25 m and area 22.5x22.5 sqm based on the original structure of Taj Mahal in Agra.
There is also a streamlet to replicate river Yamuna with two wooden bridges. The second is a replica of Christ — the Redeemer — whose original statue is situated in Rio de Janeiro. The height of the replica is around is 17.7 m installed on the top of a pedestal measuring a height of 2.7 m.
The third is the replica of Colosseum. The replica is constructed over 430 sqm area and has a height of 7.3 m. The fourth is the Great Wall of China which is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, rammed earth of about 21,196 km length. The same is replicated as a structure which is having 120 m length, 2.5 m average width and 7.4 m average height (maximum).
The fifth one is the Easter Island statues. Thirty two statues have been replicated in an area of 700 sqm. The original statues are located at south-eastern most point of the Polynesian Triangle. The sixth one is the Petra Jordan. The original structure is located in Jordan's south-western desert. The replicas are constructed on 640 sqm area. It has three mountains having a height of 13 m.
The seventh is the Pyramid. Four Pyramids, each with 2 m height, are being constructed as a replica of the original Pyramid. The base area of Pyramids are 10x10 sqm, 8x8 sqm and 4x4 sqm respectively.
