Rare gramophone records stolen from collector's house in Lake Road

Like many people who are into the hobby of collecting different things like stamps, watches, CDs and books, Anjan Sen, a state government employee was very passionate about collecting rare gramophone records. His house at Lake Road had an astounding collection of these records. Unfortunately, a few days ago many of his precious records were stolen when he was on a family trip in Pune.

After coming back home, Anjan saw that all his 448 records were stolen while two were lying broken on the floor.

To his utter dismay, Sen could not come to terms with the fact that all his old and precious records, which he had collected for years, had simply been stolen.

He called up the watchman of his house, who was given the responsibility to guard the house. The key of the main door was also kept with that watchman.

Sen's suspicion arose when the watchman promised that he will get back his stolen records within three days but after the stipulated time, Sen, still did not get his properties back.

Later, Sen contacted the private security agency who had assigned the watchman to him. The agency promised to look into the matter but even they could not do anything.

Ultimately, Sen approached the Lake police station to lodge complaint. Police learnt that he had gone to a Pune trip with his family.

He gave the key of the house to that watchman. On returning home, he found that no records in his collection room, expect two-three broken records were seen lying on the floor.

Police have not made any arrests yet as an investigation was initiated.

It should be recalled that police had arrested three persons in connection with the theft of Nobel Prize replica, citation and ornaments from Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi's house in South-east Delhi's Kalkaji area.
