Rabindra Tirtha to organise special programme on Tagore

Kolkata: Rabindra Tirtha in New Town will organise a special programme on Tagore during the weekends, starting from May 12.

On May 12, there will be chorus songs by the former students of Gitabitan at 5.30 pm. This will be followed by 'Giti Alekhya', which will be presented by the students of Visva Bharati.

On May 13, there will be chorus songs by Punashcha, directed by Darpanarayan Chattopadhyay at 5.30 pm.

This will be followed by a 'Giti Alekhya' Shyamal Sukher Dhara, on the theme of

Tagore's thoughts on the environment. At 7 pm, there will be a dance drama by the Dancers' Guild.

Rabiranjani students will present chorus songs on May 19, followed by Giti Alekhya at 7 pm there will be a programme on dance drama Suncho Bhanusingha, directed by Thankamani Kutti. On May 20, Sudarshana Sangeet Kala Kendra will present chorus songs followed by solo Rabindrasangeet.

This will be followed by recitation, directed by Srabanti Basu and Bratati Bandyopadhyay. A Giti Alekhya, Bhitor Mahaler Byatha, will be presented. Shraboni Sen and Ratna Mitra will participate in the same.

On May 26, there will be a programme on recitation, on the theme O Amar Desher Mati. This will be followed by Tasher Desh.

The event will conclude with a programme presented jointly by Rabindra Tirtha and Rabindra Bharati Society on May 27 at 6 pm.
