Rabindra Tirtha to host 4-day Multilingual Theatre Festival

Kolkata: Rabindra Tirtha and Eastern Zonal Cultural Council (EZCC) are going to organise a four-day Kolkata Multilingual Theatre Festival from Wednesday.
The festival will be held at Rabindra Tirtha. The entry to the festival is free. This is for the first time when a multi-lingual theatre festival is being organised in New Town.
Rabindra Tirtha and Nazrul Tirtha set up by the Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) have become two major cultural hubs in New Town. Not only the residents of New Town, those from Salt Lake and northern fringes and even from Kolkata go to these centres to watch cultural programs.
On March 21, the festival will be inaugurated by Guddu Guddir Duniya, a Bengali theatre directed by Arun Pal. Cultural Campaign, a well known group in Tripura has produced the drama.
The second theatre will be Atmakathon, directed by Debashis Roy.
Chetna will present Ghashiram Kotowal, directed by Sujan Mukhopadhyay on March 22. On March 23, Masoom Art Group from Jharkhan will present its Hindi play, Aap kaun chiz ke director hain ji. The theatre directed by Saikat Chatterjee has earned popularity. At 7pm, Bidur Dharmayatra, directed by Malay Mitra will be staged.
