Police reconstruct accident sequence with elder Arsalan scion

Kolkata: Kolkata Police reconstructed the sequence of events with elder Arsalan scion Raghib Parvez that resulted in the accident at Shakespeare Sarani, in which two Bangladeshi nationals were killed. Raghib's friend, who was in the Jaguar at the time of

incident, was also present

during the reconstruction that was undertaken on Friday night.

"Raghib, who was arrested on Wednesday, was asked to show the entire route taken by him from St. James School to the site of the accident and he showed the same to us," a senior official of Kolkata Police's Detective department said.

The sleuths have recovered a mobile phone and a pair of spectacles from the Jaguar during the reconstruction. The cell phone belongs to Raghib, while the specs belong to his friend. Both of them had fled from the spot soon after the accident, leaving the objects inside the car.

"We have come to know that the Jaguar was running at a very high speed and the music system inside the car was being played at a high volume as well," the official said.

The police have also seized some medical documents in connection with Raghib's treatment in Dubai which was submitted in court. Raghib had fled away to Dubai and was picked up by the police on Wednesday afternoon in front of a Beniapukur nursing home, where he had got himself admitted, allegedly to evade arrest, after returning to the city on Monday.

Raghib's friend, who was accompanying him during the accident, is the only witness in the case.

The sleuths will appeal to the court on Monday or Tuesday to record his statement in front of the magistrate, as per the provisions under section 160 CrPC.

Sources informed that as Raghib's friend has agreed to be a witness, he has not been booked by the investigators.
