Police conduct raids after miscreants enter sealed farm

Kolkata: Police conducted a raid at the chicken farm in Rajarhat on Monday after receiving information that some miscreants have managed to enter the farm that was sealed by the police earlier.
It was on Monday morning when police received information that some people used the back gate of the farm to enter.
Locals found some people entering the farm and it led to their suspicion as they knew it was sealed when police had raided it earlier.
Police conducted a raid at the farm a few days ago after they came to know that there was a huge stock of meat from carcasses and at the same time, they had found huge size freezers in which the same was stored. The owner of the farm Kausar Dhali had managed to flee.
Dhali had fled leaving several documents and computer systems containing all details of the business. The police suspect that an attempt was made to tamper the evidences and that is the reason why some people had entered the farm despite it being sealed by the police.
On Monday, the police again went to the spot and took necessary steps in this connection.
It may be recalled that earlier eight persons were arrested in this connection and police took two of them to the spot on Monday to probe into the incident. They are also taking necessary steps to get hold of others who are involved in connection with the Budge Budge incident.
It may be mentioned that a Special Investigation Team has also been formed to expedite the probe.
In the wake of this incident, the IRCTC have directed all its vendors to stop using frozen chicken and details including the place from where the chicken has been bought have to be given to the IRCTC authorities within 48 hours of the procurement.
Meanwhile, the state government has also decided to set up electric furnaces at four crematoriums for animals in certain places. Dum Dum, Konnanagar, Pujali and Rajpur-Sonarpur are the places where the crematoriums for animals will come up.
