Polaris ATV believed to belong to GJM leader Gurung seized

Darjeeling: The Darjeeling police have recovered a Polaris All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) from the outskirts of Darjeeling. GJM leader Bimal Gurung is believed to own a Polaris ATV.

"Based on an anonymous complaint, the Polaris vehicle has been seized. It had been intentionally hidden. It was found under mysterious circumstances. Anybody having any information regarding the vehicle or having valid papers can contact the Darjeeling police," stated Akhilesh Chaturvedi, Superintendent of Police, Darjeeling.
The olive green, left-hand drive vehicle is of American make. Sources state it was recovered from Limbu Bustee, Tukvar (Second Division) near Darjeeling town. The area is believed to be Gurung's stronghold and his residence was also in the vicinity. The vehicle was found concealed in the tea bushes covered with twigs and dry leaves. In the past, the GJM leader has been spotted several times riding a Polaris vehicle. Interestingly, during his visits to Darjeeling in 2012, Baba Ram Rahim who is presently in jail, used to go around town sometimes in a similar Polaris. It is believed that Gurung had managed to get the Polaris from the flamboyant spiritual guru.
