PNB fraud: ED attaches Mehul Choksi's shopping mall

Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) attached a shopping mall owned by Mehul Choksi's Gitanjali group.
The officials of the ED had conducted a raid at the mall that also houses a showroom of Gitanjali and seized several documents.
On Saturday, the central investigation has attached the property.
Sources said Choksi's group had bought the shopping mall from an organization in 2011 and the showroom of Gitanjal was set up after that.
Besides Gitanjali's showroom, the mall houses many other offices and showrooms.
So, time has been given to the authorities of all the companies or groups to shift their businesses as the ED will seal the entire property soon.
The main entrance of the shopping mall will be sealed once set up of the other companies is shifted.
It may be mentioned that ED had earlier conducted raids at multiple locations in the state in similar connection.
Raids were conducted mainly in shops of Gitanjali at various shopping complexes including one in Salt Lake and the other one in Durgapur.
The raids were conducted by ED as a part of their investigation to ascertain the money trail in connection with the scam of Rs 11,400 crore by Nirav Modi and Choksi.
