Phillips Carbon Black achieves record output, capacity use

Kolkata: There has been highest ever carbon black production of 383,316 tonnes along with capacity utilization that reached an all time high of 93%, Sanjiv Goenka, chairman of Philips carbon Black said on Thursday. He was addressing the 56th AGM of the company this morning.
He said both the production and sales volume have gone up by 15% each and there is highest ever PBT of Rs. 165.52 crores. He declared highest ever interim Dividend of 60% i.e, Rs. 6/- per equity share.
The market capital of the company is Rs 2800 crore and it is a leading manufacturer of Specialty Blacks. Its main domestic customers are , MRF, JK, Ceat, BKT, Apollo while the international customers included ,Bridgestone , Michelin, Goodyear, Continental.
The chairman said the company has presence in 30+ Countries. The demand for carbon black in India is expected to grow at 4-5%. Overseas demand growth for carbon black is estimated at 3-4%.
Carbon black capacity at Palej and Mundra in Gujarat are under expansion. Capacity expansion 80000tonnes per annum and the investment is Rs 300 cr and the end of Fy 19.
