Partha files complaints over derogatory posts against CM, himself

Kolkata: Education minister Partha Chatterjee lodged a complaint with the police, after derogatory comments were posted on a social networking site, defaming Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. A fake photograph was also posted to defame Chatterjee as well.
It may be mentioned that a few days ago, a post containing derogatory remarks about the Chief Minister was posted on a social networking site and it was noticed that the same post was shared by one Meghnath Maity.
Criticising such posts, Chatterjee said: "How can one make such remarks about the Chief Minister? Such things are unexpected."
There was another post on the social networking site that hurt the sentiment of the state Education minister. In the derogatory post, a boy has been shown drinking alcohol and it was written that the boy was Chatterjee's son.
Interestingly, the true fact is that he has no son. This post was shared by one Surajit Babu Hazra.
"Complaints have been lodged with the police in both the connections," said Chatterjee.
Chatterjee had lodged the complaint with the police on February 19. Commissioner of police Rajeev Kumar has also been informed of the matter.
Sources said that the police are probing into it and trying to identify the person who had first posted it on the social networking site. The posts came one after the other within a short span of time. So, the police are looking into all aspects of the cases.
