Park Plaza Kolkata upgraded to Raddison Kolkata
Kolkata: The Carlson Rezidor Group has upgraded the Park Plaza Kolkata Ballygunge to Radisson Kolkata Ballygunge with a slew of new facilities and services to grab a bigger share of the social market.
Radisson Kolkata Ballygunge is the first Radisson hotel in the heart of Kolkata.
The rebranding was done yesterday to focus on capturing the social market, especially social weddings, said, Mukti Gupta, managing director, Mukti Group adding that with the entry of international premium brands like J W Marriot and Westin in Kolkata, Radisson's brand name will help attract more business.
Mukti Group which owns the property had been operating the hotel since 2012 in partnership with Carlson Rezidor Group under its Park Plaza brand.
"Due to our location, we attract a lot of bookings for social events. We want to develop this property as a wedding destination and I am sure by upgrading this brand to Raddison we will attract more and more social weddings," she said.
"In weddings and social functions, the Raddison name adds a greater appeal which will help attract more bookings for weddings," added Raj Rana, CEO, Carlson Rezidor Group, South Asia.
Carlson Rezidor Group manages and franchises hotels and invests in the revenue delivery engines world over.
At present, it operates 89 hotels across India and is the second largest international brand in the country.
