Owner, manager held for fire in restro that killed 1

Police have arrested the owner and the manager of the restaurant where a fire broke out on Wednesday claiming the life of an employee.
The fire department has lodged a complaint in the police station against the restaurant. Two other employees who were injured in the fire are undergoing treatment at KPC hospital and their condition was stated to be serious. After starting a probe, police on Thursday arrested Uttam Kumar Tala, the manager of the restaurant and its owner Gopal Ojha.

According to the sources, police have booked the accused under Sections 285, 304A, 338 and 109 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Experts from state forensic laboratory reached the spot and collected the samples.

Nandadulal Bera, an employee of the restaurant died in the hospital after he had suffered serious burn injuries in the fire that broke out at a restaurant near Jadavpur 8B bus stand on Wednesday. On the basis of the investigation, police and fire brigade officials found some serious lapses in the fire safety arrangement of the restaurant. Investigation also suggested that the incident was caused after a gas cylinder that was stocked inside the restaurant exploded.
