One-week orientation course on New Technology Venture

Kolkata: In a bid to encourage New Technology Venture (NTV) in the state, the state government has taken up an initiative to provide a one-week orientation course for the youth to catapult them to a higher level.
"The orientation course will be beneficial for those who are interested to take up NTV. It will be compulsory and part of other courses like C, Red Hat etc that is offered by Webel Informatics System (WIL). The training will provide guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs on the various processes of such tech ventures," state principal secretary of Information Technology department Debashis Sen said on the sidelines of a business conclave on Entrepreneurship and Start Ups organised by Bengal Chamber on Friday.
Webel Informatics Limited (WIL), a state government undertaking is the IT & Electronics Education and training arm of West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation (Webel).
State NTV Resource Hub for inculcating lessons in NTV has come up in Kolkata and 23 NTV Accelerators in all districts have been launched in line with the state government's continued commitment to develop an ecosystem for new venture in Bengal.
The Accelerators are networked with the State Hub through video conferencing facilities. Live capacity building mentoring sessions delivered by eminent professionals, academicians and industry experts are being telecast on a regular basis. Aspiring entrepreneurs, irrespective of which distant location they are residing, can connect and participate in the live sessions from the district Accelerators.
The Resource Hub for NTV will provide access to knowledge to district Accelerators, telecast live capacity building sessions, networking mentors and experts, networking kick-starter fund supporter and co ordinate with technical business incubators.
"The district Accelerators will encourage and promote culture for new ventures, conduct entrepreneurship development programmes, create mechanism for fast track statutory/ legal support and provide potential investors access to cherry pick project proposals of interest," a senior official of IT department said.
Chandra Sekhar Ghosh, President of Bengal Chamber and Managing Director of Bandhan Bank said: "We want to create a favourable platform where policy makers, business heads, funders and young entrepreneurs could come together and share their experience."
