Nurse beats up doctor who refused to marry her after false promises

Kolkata: A nurse attached to a Block health centre at Nalhati Block 1 beat up a doctor from the same health centre alleging that he refused to marry her after a relationship.

The accused nursing staff member, however, denied the charges of beating up the doctor. She alleged that the accused had assured her that he would marry her but later refused to do the same.

The doctor who was heckled by the nurse later lodged a complaint at the local police station.

The complainant nurse had claimed that she had a relationship with the doctor, Anagh Banerjee and he promised to marry her.

But when she wanted to know the time when he would marry her, the accused doctor misbehaved with her. The doctor works as a BMOH at the health centre.

The complainant's mother who is also a senior nurse of the health centre alleged that her daughter had been given night duty.

The accused allegedly had a love affair with the nurse and later refused to marry her.

The woman later lodged a complaint with the Vishakha department. After this incident the complainant was transferred to some other hospital. The victim also alleged that the Vishakha committee asked the Chief Medical Officer of Health to carry out a probe in this incident but he did not conduct any hearing.

The victim's mother said that they went to the office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health where she found that a scuffle had broken out between the woman and the accused doctor.

She alleged that the victim woman received injuries on her leg during the scuffle. The victim woman alleged that she was sitting at a tea shop where the accused doctor hurled abuses at her.

After this incident she chased the accused and caught him. A scuffle broke out between the two. Following the incident the accused doctor lodged a complaint with the Chief Medical Officer.
