Nurse accused of heckling pregnant woman
Kolkata: A nursing staff of Bolpur Sub-divisional hospital in Birbhum has been accused of heckling a pregnant woman.
The incident has triggered a furore with the family members of the patient staging demonstration outside the hospital. It was learnt that Sundari Mardi, a resident of Tantijola village, went into labour on Wednesday.
She was rushed to the hospital by her family members.
The family members of the woman alleged that a nursing staff of the hospital had beaten her while she was being taken to the labour room late on Wednesday night. They also alleged that she suffered injuries on her face.
As the family members staged protest demonstration inside the hospital, the authorities informed the police. Senior police officers reached the spot and brought the situation under control and dispersed the mob. The family members of the victim alleged that the woman was beaten up when she was in pain. They also demanded a probe into the incident.
