Now, grab a bite on-the-go at fast food centre in Kolkata Station

Kolkata: A new fast food centre has come up at the Kolkata station of the eastern railway to provide quality food to the passengers.

The fast food centre was inaugurated by a women passenger on March 19. Prabhas Dansana, divisional railway manager, Sealdah, Debashis Chandra, group general manager IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation), Eastern Zone and AM Singh, additional divisional railway manager, Sealdah, also attended the function. The state-of-the-art fast food unit has all the modern gadgets in the kitchen.

The sole purpose of the initiative is to serve quality food to the passengers.

The prices of the food items are pocket-friendly so that people from all sections of the society are able to afford food at the centre.

The Kolkata station has now become an international rail terminal as it is the terminating station of international trains such Khulna bandhan Express and Kolkata-Dhaka Maitree Express. The fast food centre has met the long-standing demand of the passengers that quality food should be made available at the station itself at affordable prices.

The fast food centre will serve both non vegetarian and vegetarian dishes along with thali.

Breakfast and dinner will be available at the centre also. The Indian Railways has taken a move to provide quality food to the passengers at railway stations and on board. Accordingly, such centres are coming up in different railway stations.
