No car pool for La Martiniere girls from Jan 2018

Kolkata: The La Martiniere School for Girls on Tuesday issued a notification on Tuesday, stating that the use of car pools for ferrying students will be prohibited with effect from January 2018. Sources said that the decision of the school comes as a step to ensure safety and security of students in the wake of the incidents of sexual abuse at two premier schools in the city.

The notice further stated that one of the parents or family members will be required to drop or pick his/her ward from school.
"All escorts must carry an authorisation letter, having attested signature and photograph as identity proof. The notice undersigned by the principal of the school R Sarkar states that guardians should cooperate with the school as the decision is meant for safety and security of their wards."
La Martiniere for Girls and Boys — two separate schools - have 750 cameras. The school has recently received a request letter from CISF saying that they have developed a security system for educational institutes. "We are very interested to use their advice to train our security personnel," the school's spokesperson said.
