NKDA celebrates Women's Day with aplomb

Kolkata: New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) celebrated the International day for Women, with active and vibrant cooperation from its residents.
A string of events were organised all across New Town throughout the day, celebrating the spirit of womanhood.
The day started with a fun-filled All Women Walk from New Town Business Club at 8 a.m, in which a large number of women from all walks of life took part. This was followed by a Golf event at the Golf Course of Eco Park at 9 a.m.
At 10 a.m, a special Women Only Health Camp was organised at Swapnabhore - the Senior Citizen's park, where 10 doctors examined 60 women.
The finals of the Women's Under 17 and Above 17 Badminton Championship were organised at the badminton course of New Town Business Club, where the winners were handed out their medals. At 1:30 p.m, a special screening of the film Pink was organised at Nazrul Tirtha.
From 5 p.m onwards, community-level cultural events on the theme of Women's Day were held at 30 venues all over New Town, which included parks, puja grounds, housing complexes, etc. by various residents' associations, with the assistance of NKDA. The day ended with a Food Mela organised by the residents at New Town Business Club at 7:30 p.m, followed by a cookery contest.
