NIAS introduces 3 new research areas

Kolkata: Netaji Institute for Asian Studies (NIAS) is all set to give its research activities a big boost with the launch of three new research areas.
"We have received a reasonable amount of fund from the state government and have recruited three new faculty members. So, we have decided to start three new avenues of research," said Suranjan Das, honorary director of NIAS said.
The three new research areas are India's relation with South and South East Asia, India's cultural links with outside world and Ramayana Mahabharata and Classical texts.
Some new titles will also be released in the coming months that include books on relations between India-Malaysia, India–Vietnam and some books on Children's literature.
It may be mentioned that NIAS has recently recruited three new faculty members and will fill up the two existing vacant posts soon."I am thankful to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for an additional grant to encourage research in NIAS," Das said. MPOST
