Firhad lays foundation of housing complex for state govt employees

State Urban Development minister Firhad Hakim laid the foundation of 'Akhankha' housing complex at New Town on Tuesday evening. This is the housing complex solely made for state government's non-executive employees.

Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee, who is also the state Housing minister and Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sabyasachi Dutta were also present there.

The state Housing department initiated the project, in which 447 flats have already been allotted out of 500 flats. The work will be initiated soon. The project will be completed by 2019.

In this project, the person who was given the allotment can build their own flats. They will be the sole owner of the flat. Hakim, assured the speedy completion of the project.

"State government employees work tirelessly but could not build their home. The previous government did not think about those
employees. Now, the present government has planned this project for them," Said Dutta while taking about the project.
