Bengal govt increases age limit of WBPSC, WBCS recruitments

The Bengal government has increased the age limit of various recruitment examinations for state government jobs. Age limits of recruitment examination under West Bengal Public Service Commission and West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) examination have been increased. The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting at state secretariat Nabanna on Friday. After the meeting, state Education minister Partha Chatterjee, said that the government has taken the decision to extend the age limit of those examinations by which recruitment of government jobs are done.

"We have decided to increase the age limit. We will soon issue a notification on this regard," the minister said. "The age-limit of examination of the group-A will be 36 in place of 32. The age-limit of group B will be 39 in place of 32 years. We have decided it in the Cabinet meeting," said Chatterjee. However, the age-limit of group C and group D will be same, which is 40 years, the minister added. WBPSC controls the various recruitment examinations in the various government departments. However, the process of teachers' recruitment has been done through West Bengal School Service Commission and Primary Teachers' Recruitment Board.
