Fire breaks out in godown, Sovan visits spot

A fire broke out at a godown housed in a residential building on Shyamacharan Dey Street on Saturday afternoon.

Four fire tenders fought the blaze for one hour before brining it under control.

Sovan Chatterjee, minister Fire and Emergency Services department and local MLA Smita Bakshi went to the spot.

Local people saw smoke coming out of the godown around 4 pm.

They made attempts to douse the flame and later informed the fire brigade. Four fire tenders were pressed into service.
