Indian Chamber of Commerce inks MoU with Incheon counterpart

An MoU was signed between Indian Chamber of Commerce and Incheon Chambers of Commerce in presence of Sovan Chatterjee, Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) and his counterpart Yoo Jeong-Bok, Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City on Friday afternoon.

As per the MoU the two Chambers of Commerce will exchange ideas, technologies relating to civic development etc.

The two Mayors had lunch together in a 5 star hotel. They also discussed on the possible areas where the two cities can be benefited by exchanging views.

Incheon is one of the fastest developing cities in South Korea. Its population was just 4,700 in 1883
when it was declared as an international port. Now, its population is over 3 million. The city has under its jurisdiction, the Incheon International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world.

The modern city is famous for its green cover and preservation of environment.The Mayor of Incheon attended the inaugural session of the 3rd edition of Bengal Global Business Summit.

Delegates from many countries have come to Kolkata to attend the summit. The foreign delegates were welcomed at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club on Thursday morning and they met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Industry, Commerce and Finance minister Amit Mitra at a dinner session on Thursday night at Eco Park. Many industrialists also took part in the dinner.

Japan, Poland, Italy and Germany were the partner country in this year's BGBS. The knowledge partner is KPMG, the professional service company – one among the globally acclaimed big four. The summit partner is Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
