NDITA sets up pocket parks in Sector V

Kolkata: Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) will set up pocket parks mainly for IT employees in Sector V.
The construction of the first park is going on in full swing. Two other parks will come up shortly.
The first park has come up on a plot where people used to offload garbage.
There were illegal shanties. NDITA officials had rehabilitated the shanty dwellers to another place.
The pocket park will give relief to the IT employees who sit in front of computers for long periods.
During recess, they visit the roadside tea or food stalls , have their food and quickly go back to their place of work.
Pocket parks are places where they can relax for some time, enjoy the green, have their food, gossip with the colleagues and then go back to their work.
Such parks are quite popular in areas where IT hubs have come up both in the country and abroad.
The parks will have green cover and some benches will be put up for them to sit there and enjoy the green.
They can have their food. The green serves as oasis amidst of concrete construction.
Such parks are quite popular in Silicon valley and famous political correspondent of New York Times Thomas L Freedman has written several pieces on IT
employees making the parks as the central plot.
