Narcotics Control Bureau arrests Bolivian national

Kolkata: In a major breakthrough, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested a woman, who is a Bolivian national, from Kolkata Airport on Wednesday with cocaine worth Rs 14 crore.
According to a senior officer of NCB, the accused Saucedo Chao Yenny (45) is a Bolivian national. The investigating officers conducted the raid acting on a tip-off and found cocaine weighing around 2 kg from her suitcase.
The woman reached Kolkata Airport on Wednesday morning in a private airlines flight from Sao Paolo in Brazil via Dubai.
Preliminary investigation revealed that she was destined to pass on the consignment to some of her counterparts in the city itself. A probe has been initiated in this connection and the investigating officers are leaving no stones unturned to reach to the root of the international narcotics smuggling chain. A Spanish interpreter has been engaged to translate her words during interrogation that has been initiated so that the investigating officers could reach to the counterparts in Kolkata and other adjoining states of Bengal at its earliest.
The investigating officers suspect that the person to whom the woman was about to pass the consignment had also received some direction to take the cocaine to some other parts of the country.
