Narada case: CBI questions Arambagh MP

Kolkata: Officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) went to the residence of Arambagh MP Aparupa Poddar at Rishra in Hooghly to question her in connection with the Narada News sting operation. It was at around 11 am on Thursday when CBI officers went to her residence. A team of three CBI officers, including a lady officer went to her house. Sources said that she was asked to say whatever she knew about the sting operation.
This is the first time when the MP's statement has been taken. CBI wanted to question her to verify the statement given by Mathew Samuel, who resigned from the post of Editor-in-Chief of Narada News India Private Limited on Wednesday.
It was Samuel who had carried out the sting operation and he was repeatedly questioned by both the central investigating agencies. His statement was recorded by both the agencies and now its officers are questioning the political leaders to verify his statements.
Both CBI and ED have already questioned some of the political leaders whose names had cropped in this connection.
