MSME&T top brass hold video conference with entrepreneurs

Kolkata: Top brass of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Textiles department held a video conference with entrepreneurs and business houses from the sector in North 24-Parganas on Monday.

The main purpose of the initiative is to solve the various problems faced by the entrepreneurs in the district. It has been taken up in other districts as well, where the business houses can directly talk to senior officials of the MSME and Textiles department through video conference and solve their issues. The step was taken following an instruction of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who had asked the top brass of the MSME department to address the issues of entrepreneurs.

The step was taken after some entrepreneurs drew the attention of the Chief Minister in this regard. People often face problems while initiating a startup business in the state. Now, the businessmen from the districts have got a platform where they can convey their grievances.

Banerjee, during a business summit at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, said that video conferences would be held from Nabanna, where the MSME officials will listen to the grievances and problems of young entrepreneurs.

It may be recalled that she had stressed on the need of further intervention in the grassroot level in districts, to ensure worldwide presence of Bengal's MSME sector. She also instructed the MSME and Textiles department officials to initiate a "single window video conference" for troubleshooting in the grassroot level.

As many as 19 various organisations of businessmen from North 24-Parganas have already been brought under the ambit of the district chamber of commerce.

The members of the chamber have expressed their happiness after the video conference was started from Monday, when they talked to the top brass of the MSME and Textile sector in Nabanna.
