Kolkata: Union Woman and Child Development and Textiles minister Smriti Irani claimed that during the first 100 days the second Narendra Modi government has done an excellent job in several areas.

Irani said on Tuesday that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana scheme, five crore small and marginal farmers get minimum pension benefits of Rs 3,000 every month. Apart from this, 6.37 crore farmers have got benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana scheme.

On the other hand, 58 redundant laws have been repealed, with the count at 1,486 since 2014. Regarding labour law reforms, she informed that the Centre has done an excellent job securing the minimum wages for workers across the country.

"In the past 100 days the government has dedicated itself to labour reforms. 32 Central laws have been transformed to four codes. It is now set to benefit 50 crore unorganised sector workers across the country," said Irani.

She further informed that the Centre has already passed the Code on Wages Bill 2019 to provide fixed minimum wage to the entire work force.

It has also been ruled that employers have to seek consent from women employees on whether they want to work in shifts or not.
