MLA from Islampur Assembly constituency severely injured

Kolkata: Kanailal Agarwal, an MLA from Islampur Assembly constituency, receive severe injuries in a road accident where his car collided head on with a truck at Karandighi in North Dinajpur on Friday morning. He was admitted to Raiganj Super Specialty Hospital where he is undergoing necessary treatment.
Police said the MLA was headed towards Raiganj from Islampore to attend a meeting on Friday morning. There isn't any divider on the road. All of a sudden, a truck that was at a high speed collided head on with his car. Police are looking into all aspects of the accident.
after preliminary investigation, police suspect that the driver of the truck had fallen asleep and it could be the reason behind the accident. It seems it was too late for the driver when he found the car just in front of his speeding vehicle. Locals initiated the rescue work. Later, police reached the spot and took the MLA to the hospital where he is admitted and undergoing necessary treatment. The state Tribal development minister, James Kujur, visited the hospital and spoke to the doctors.
He said Agarwal's condition is stable right now and a CT scan of his head has also been carried out. Meanwhile, one person was killed and ten others were injured when they fell victims to a road accident on the way to Changu Lake from Gangtok on Friday morning.
All of them are residents of Kakinara in North 24-Parganas. Police said there was some fault in the car in which they were travelling. Police had also stopped the car a few kilometers ahead of the spot where the accident took place as the driver had failed to show some documents of the vehicle.
But for certain reason, the driver was allowed to take the tourists from the state ahead in the same car. One of the passengers, Samir Pal, had jumped from the car finding it is going to fall into the gorge. He received severe injuries on his head when he jumped and was declared brought dead when taken to hospital. While the 10 others, who were injured, were provided with necessary treatment.
