Minor falls in safety tank, dies

Kolkata: In a tragic incident a five-year-old boy fell into the safety tank of an under-construction building. The incident occurred at Saradapally area of Bamongachi on Tuesday morning. The deceased, Tonmoy Pal had asked his father Tapas Pal for new pair of shoes. His father told him that he would take him to a nearby shop to buy the shoes. The boy was playing with his elder sister near his house on Tuesday morning. His elder sister later returned home while he continued playing. As he did not return home, the family members started searching the nearby areas but did not get any trace of him. After conducting a thorough search, the family members found the boy inside the safety tank near the under-construction building. The local people also rushed to the spot. The baby was rescued by the local people and rushed to the Barasat district hospital where the doctors pronounced him brought dead. After being informed the police reached the spot and started a probe. The body has been sent for the post-mortem. The local residents have raised questions on why the safety tank of was uncovered and blamed the construction company.
