Mayor releases booklet on arrangements during Pujas

Kolkata: Mayor Sovan Chatterjee, on Friday released a booklet called "Arrangement of Civic Services during the festive season 2017."
He also held a high-level meeting with the representatives of various agencies like Kolkata Police, Kolkata Port Trust, Fire and Emergency Services, Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) at KMC headquarters on SN Banerjee Road on Friday. His Mayor-in-Council colleagues including Debashis Kumar, Atin Ghosh, Ratan Dey, Debabrata Mazumdar were present at the meeting.
The civic authorities will supply additional drinking water during the four days of Durga Puja. Senior civic officials will come and man the Control Room on a rotational basis. KMC will repair the roads before the Pujas and work to repair the roads is going on full swing. The leaves of the senior officials of the Health department have been cancelled and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has asked all the people's representatives to remain in their locality and ensure that no untoward incident takes place.
The KMC will put up additional lighting arrangements at the ghats where immersions takes place. The conservancy workers will clean the roads twice daily. The dengue clinics of KMC will remain open during the Pujas.
Chatterjee told the officials of various agencies who were present at the meeting for better cooperation. The KMC and the other agencies will work as a team. The city police have made elaborate arrangements to manage traffic both of the vehicles of the city and of the ones that will come from the neighbouring districts. The booklet that was published on Friday carried some dos and don'ts. Some important telephone numbers have also been given.
