Marketing outlet and food corner set up by NKDA launched

Kolkata: The state Fisheries minister Chandranath Sinha on Friday opened a marketing outlet and food corner at the market set up by New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) in New Town.
The stalls have been constructed to rehabilitate the hawkers. After distributing the stalls among the hawkers, NKDA kept two stalls which were distributed among state government agencies.
The marketing outlet and the food court will be run by the State Fisheries Development Corporation (SFDC).
The residents of New Town will get best quality fish at an affordable price. Sunil Gupta, former Principal Secretary, Fisheries and now Principal Secretary Power department was present at the function.
NKDA has already distributed stalls among various state government departments in its markets like the SFDC, Animal Resource department (ARD) to sell Haringhata products. There is an SFDC outlet at Eco Park. Sufala stalls have also been opened at NKDA markets. Organic vegetables are being sold from NKDA markets. These vegetables are grown on the rooftops of NKDA markets.
NKDA markets have become quite popular among the residents of New Town. The markets are well planned as well as clean and the residents get fresh vegetables, fish and other items.
Chandranath Sinha on Friday inaugurated an administrative building at Nalban along with nature and aquatic parks with stay-away cottages. He also opened a live fish vending vehicle at Nalban. People can stay at the newly built cottages to enjoy the ambiance and nature.
Nalban attracts hundreds of bird watchers during winter when different varieties of birds come to the area from distant countries.
