Manoj Mitra to request CM after rehearsal room row

Kolkata: Manoj Mitra, well known theatre personality will approach Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after the owner of the house took possession of the rehearsal room of Sundaram following a High Court Order.
The owner took possession of the room in presence of High Court officials and police. The room on the ground floor of the building on Jatin Das Road was used for rehearsal and sets of various plays were stored in the room. Sundaram took the room on rent in 1957.
The owners alleged that he had moved the High Court after the group stopped paying rent since the last 5 years. However, Mitra said the rent was being regularly deposited in the Rent Control.
Mitra alleged that the sets of popular plays Parabas and Sajano Bagan along with some important documents got damaged when they were being thrown on the street on Thursday noon. The owner said he took possession of the room following the Court order.
Mitra said he would approach Mamata Banerjee and would request her to give an alternative accommodation which can be used for rehearsal and where the sets and other documents could be stored.
