Man held for creating fake Facebook profile of Firhad Hakim

Kolkata: A person has been arrested from Nabadwip in Nadia for allegedly creating a fake Facebook profile in the name of Mayor Firhad Hakim. The accused person also spread some false information using the profile.

According to police, a few days ago sleuths came to know about a profile in the name of Hakim which was found to be fake. Immediately, a case was lodged against unknown persons and the Cyber Crime Cell of Kolkata Police started a probe.

During investigation, sleuths got hold of the Internet Protocol (IP) address which was used to create the fake Facebook profile. Later, sleuths traced the IP address and found that

it was being used by a person identified as Tarun Kumar Ghosh of Buichara Para in Nabadwip.

On Saturday night, police raided his house and arrested him. On Sunday he was produced before the Bankshall Court and was remanded to police custody till June 22.
