Man found in pool of blood

Kolkata: Tension cropped up at the Tollygunge Police Lines after the body of a person was found lying on Thursday night. Local residents saw the person lying unconscious and informed Jadavpur police station. Later, th epolice rushed the person to M R Bangur Hospital where attending doctor declared him brought dead.

According to police, on Thursday, around 7:30 pm, occupants of N block felt something heavy fell on the ground. When they went to the spot they saw a man was lying in a pool of blood.

After the police took him to hospital he was declared dead on arrival by the doctors. Later, the person was identified as Bapi Dey (45).

Residents of housing claimed that none of them knew Dey and thus they initially failed to identify him.

During preliminary investigation, the police found that Dey used work in a liquor shop in Charu Market area.

But why he went to Tollygunge Police Lines is not yet revealed. The police claimed that Dey jumped from the roof of the four-storied building.

It is suspected he had committed suicide. However, the police are trying to find out if there is some foul play but till Friday night nothing could be detected.

Also, no complaint was received regarding his unnatural death. The police are waiting for the autopsy report in order to find out exact cause of death. If ambiguities are detected, the investigation will be conducted accordingly.
