Man found dead with slit throat, injury marks on body

Kolkata: A man was found dead inside his rented house in Chinsurah on Monday night. According to local residents and police, his throat was slit and several injury marks were found on the body.

According to sources, the deceased, identified as Bubai Ghosh, (30), had rented a portion of a house at Sujan Bagan area in Chinsurah. Ghosh and his wife Soma Adhikary were living in the house since February.

Ghosh hails from Barasat in North 24-Parganas.

Rahul Ganguly, who is Ghosh's landlord, said he had demanded necessary documents from the couple, which they did not submit. But, they had paid rent on time for the past three months.

Ganguly said he was not aware what Ghosh did to earn a living. He said Ghosh told him a few days ago that he got a contract of some construction work for a flat. On Monday night, some of Ganguly's neighbours saw blood stains outside his house. After being informed, Ganguly went to check Ghosh's room and found him dead.

Chinsurah police station was immediately informed. Later, police called up Adhikary and informed her about the incident.

According to sleuths, no one saw anything suspicious around Ganguly's house on Monday night. Sleuths are trying to find out if Ghosh had any enmity with someone.

As nothing was looted from the house, cops suspect it to be a planned murder. They also suspect the accused could be known to the victim as there were no signs that Ghosh struggled before his death.
