Mamata to unveil slew of projects in North Dinajpur today

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will unveil a slew of projects in North Dinajpur on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister left for North Bengal on Monday evening from the state secretariat, Nabanna. She will be attending a public meeting from where she will be laying foundation stones and inaugurating several projects. She will also be handing over benefits under different schemes to the people of North Dinajpur. Banerjee will also be holding the administrative review meeting of the district on Tuesday.
Lakhs of people will be turning up at Alorani Football Ground near Chopra in North Dinajpur to hear the chief minister's address at 3 pm. The district police have tightened security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident during the Chief Minister's visit to the district.
The Chief Minister will be laying the foundation stone of the Raiganj Medical College on Tuesday. The upcoming medical college at Raiganj will be a boon to residents of the district.
Besides the medical college in the district, the Chief Minister will also be laying the foundation stones of an electric sub-division, dedicated district family welfare and vaccine store, quarters for medical officers and other health workers, girls' hostel and model schools.
Banerjee will be inaugurating a Krishi Bhavan at Islampur, a new police station and barrack at Goalpokhar I and Itahar block, a water treatment project at Sridharpur and Kaliaganj and students' hostels.
The projects which will be set in motion in the presence of Banerjee include construction of an additional building of Dalkhola College, 200 anganwadi centres in congervence with MGNREGs. The work on around 46.5 km black top road at Itahar, Islampur, Goalpokher I and II, Raiganj and Karandighi blocks. The drinking water supply scheme for Bidyanandapur in Goalpokher Block will also be initiated.
