Mamata left waiting for 2 hours at Bagdogra Airport

Darjeeling: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had to spend nearly two hours waiting at the Bagdogra Airport, on her way back to Kolkata on Friday. The Chief Minister was to depart by an Indigo flight scheduled to depart at 4.35 pm. Accordingly, she had arrived at the airport. However, the flight failed to land and was diverted to Guwahati. She was then booked on an Air Asia flight to Kolkata, that departed at 6.10 pm. "The Indigo flight could not land owing to very strong tail winds. After attempts to land failed, the flight was diverted to Guwahati. The CM then took the Air Asia flight at 6.10 pm to Kolkata," stated Rakesh Sahay, airport director, Bagdogra. In the past also, on February 10, the Indigo flight on which the CM was returning to Kolkata from Bagdogra, had hovered around NS International Airport, before landing 10 minutes late at 5.54 pm. The CM stepped out of the airport at around 6.20 pm, resulting in a 45 minute delay in her meeting with Hardik Patel, the Patidar leader from Gujarat.
