Mamata indisputable leader of the masses, says Abhishek

Darjeeling: "Mamata Banerjee has emerged as the leader of the masses; leader of the country and not just Bengal alone," declared Abhishek Banerjee, the national president of the All India Trinamool Youth Congress.

He, along with other front rung TMC leaders, was addressing a mammoth rally at Falakata, in Alipurduar, on Monday. This was organised as a run-up to the TMC's mega Kolkata rally slated for January 19 with the main objective to mobilise masses.

"Mamata Banerjee is not just the president of the TMC, she has emerged as the leader of the masses. The whole country is looking up to her. Owing to this, national leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, Yashwant Sinha, Akhilesh Yadav, Shatrughan Sinha, Sharad Pawar, Sharad Yadav and others have answered her clarion call and will be attending the Brigade Rally. They will further strengthen Mamata Banerjee's resources," stated Banerjee.

Abhishek maintained that not only will all work as per the directives of Mamata Banerjee but they will toil hard to uphold the secular nature of the Constitution. "We will work to keep away Communalism from the country preserving the strong secular nature of India which some political outfits are trying to tarnish," he assured.

The rally was held at the Falakata Town Club ground. Along with mobilising masses for the Kolkata mega rally, the youth leader also campaigned for the forthcoming Parliamentary elections.

"We have to work together and ensure the victory of the TMC in all the 42 Lok Sabha seats," he stated. He added that since 2014, the BJP has been trying to subjugate all political parties.

"Their plans were foiled when it came to the TMC and our leader Mamata Banerjee. They tried everything including threats but TMC emerged stronger," he declared.

He stated that while the TMC has been working for the masses; working for the upliftment of society, the BJP has been indulging in sectarian politics and politics of terror.

"Mamata Banerjee as the Chief Minister has launched schemes like Kanyashree, Sikshashree, Yuvashree, Gitanjali housing scheme that has benefitted the masses. On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is full of empty promises. He had come to Alipurduar in 2016 and assured that he would ensure that seven closed tea gardens become operational. Not a single one has opened up. He has never been seen in the tea belt. On the other hand, Mamata Banerjee has always been with the tea garden workers through thick and thin," he further added.

"The BJP is a spent force. Recent elections in the five states were the semi-finals. They lost in the semi-finals and hence they have lost the right to play in the final," added Aroop Biswas, TMC Observer for Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri.
